Product details

Carbide end mills for aluminium are specially designed for milling aluminium and aluminium alloys. These tools are suitable for grooving and roughing applications. CNC milling of aluminum can be difficult as material sticks to the grooves and chips build up. Solid carbide 3-flute end mill with cutting edges along the outer diameter and groove. It is designed so that chips are removed and coolant is easily accessible.

Features

3-flute design, suitable for machining all materials.

Convex shapes are produced on all materials including high silicon content aluminum, copper, brass.

Great for adding a specific radius to a workpiece, or removing sharp edges or burrs.

Designed to improve performance in profile and cavity roughing applications in aluminum and light alloys.

Aluminum or aluminum alloy cutting characteristics:

1. The hardness of aluminum or aluminum alloy is low. Compared with titanium alloy and other quenched steel, the hardness of aluminum alloy is lower. Of course, the hardness of heat treatment or die-casting aluminum alloy is also high. The HRC hardness of ordinary aluminum plates is generally below HRC40 degrees. Therefore, when machining aluminum alloys, the load of the tool is small. And because the thermal conductivity of aluminum alloy is better, the cutting temperature of milling aluminum alloy is relatively low, which can improve the milling speed.

2. Aluminum or aluminum alloy has low plasticity and low melting point. When machining aluminum alloys, the sticking problem is serious, the chip removal performance is poor, and the surface roughness is relatively high. In fact, the processing of aluminum alloy is mainly due to poor sticking and roughness. As long as the two major problems of sticking the knife and the quality of the machined surface are solved, the problem of aluminum alloy processing will be solved.
